About

Hello and welcome!

Hi there! I’m Chloe — welcome to my creative kitchen. Here you'll find colorful, fun, and delicious recipes with a healthy, plant-based twist. My goal is to show you that vegan cooking can be easy, exciting, and spark creativity in your everyday meals.

What You'll Find on Chloe's Creative Kitchen

Here you'll find all-vegan recipes with a focus on whole-food ingredients. Many are high-protein, gluten-free, and refined sugar-free, while being easy, accessible, and budget-friendly. If a recipe uses a specialty ingredient on occasion, I make sure to link to where you can find it.

I'm always excited to add a unique twist to both sweet and savory dishes — especially “dessert for breakfast” recipes! I also enjoy veganizing classic comfort foods and nostalgic favorites using plant-based ingredients, so you can indulge in familiar flavors without any animal products.

Each recipe comes with detailed instructions and helpful tips to make it easy to follow and flexible for different needs.

And while you may assume that eating vegan feels restrictive, it actually opens up a whole new world of ingredient and flavor possibilities!

No matter what type of eater you are, there's something here for you. I hope to inspire you to eat more plants, align your food with your values, and discover that vegan food can be simple, affordable, and absolutely delicious.

The Backstory

In high school, I realized the connection between the food we eat and how we feel. I started focusing on nutrient-dense meals and quickly fell in love with cooking them — it became my creative outlet.

My camera roll was filling up with photos I snapped on my phone of meals I had made. I figured, why keep them to myself when I could share them online and see what happens? In 2021, I started posting on Instagram under the name Bowls by Bean — a nod to the nickname my close family calls me. As my content evolved, so did the name, and Chloe’s Creative Kitchen felt like the perfect fit.

What started as a casual hobby turned into a full-time passion. I bought a camera and dove into food photography, found my love for content creation, and began partnering with brands that were already part of my kitchen. Eventually, I left my grocery store job to focus on recipe development. Little did I know that one day I’d be calling things like French onion pasta and peanut butter cup smoothies my “job” — and I’m so grateful.

Thank you for being here and supporting this dream. Whether you make a recipe or just browse the blog, it truly means the world to me.

When I'm Not in The Kitchen...

When I’m not testing recipes or making a mess in the kitchen, you can find me out for a walk, getting active at the gym, listening to pop music, navigating life in my early 20s, or spending time with my family in Chesapeake, Virginia — where we’ve lived for over half my life. We’re originally from Savannah, Georgia and still visit extended family there a few times a year. We also enjoy traveling to fun spots in the mountains or by the beach. Hiking is my top pick: I love the peace and energy of being in nature!

My Food Philosophy

Between social media trends and diet culture, it can be hard to know what “healthy” really means. But here’s the truth: you get to decide what healthy eating looks like for you. I embrace a balanced, anti-diet approach — focusing on whole, nutrient-dense foods most of the time, while leaving room for fun, indulgent foods too. No “good” or “bad” labels here!

Instead of obsessing over calories or macros (been there), I encourage intuitive eating, tuning into what makes your body and soul feel good. Food isn’t just fuel — it’s about connection, creativity, culture, and joy.

I love recreating traditional dishes in a more wholesome way, like protein brownies or healthy Samoa cookies. But not everything needs to be “health-ified.” Sometimes, you just need a good old slice of cake or a classic burger and fries. As I always say: it’s all about moderation.

Fun Facts About Chloe

  • Breakfast is my favorite meal of the day. My go-tos are protein smoothies, oatmeal, yogurt bowls, and tofu scramble with avocado toast.
  • I went vegetarian in late 2021 for the animals, and made the full switch to vegan during Veganuary in January 2022.
  • Besides the kitchen, my happy places are Whole Foods Market and anywhere out in nature. I plan to get into solo traveling soon!
  • My favorite animal is cows — especially one named Mater, who lives at a nearby farm. Petting him, seeing him up close, and looking into his eyes for the first time was a magical moment. It made it crystal clear that I didn’t want animals like Mater to end up on my plate. Now, it’s a full-circle moment to see him every year at the farm’s fall festival.
  • I have a slight obsession with matcha, a type of green tea. Matcha lattes, matcha desserts, you name it! And I’ll never say no to anything with chocolate in it.
  • Before I became a recipe developer, I considered a career in architecture or interior design. One day, I hope to host a vacation rental to combine those interests. I think it’d be so fun to become a vegan personal chef, too!
  • Growing up, one of my favorite foods was tomatoes. At the sandwich shop, I'd always ask for exactly 10 tomato slices on my sub. I couldn’t get enough! Since they hold a special place in my heart, my website logo is a tomato.

Yield: 12 cookies

Ingredients:
-½ cup No Sugar Added @sunbutter
-⅓ cup maple syrup
-1 teaspoon vanilla extract
-½ cup almond flour
-½ cup oat flour
-½ teaspoon baking soda
-¼ teaspoon salt
-12 vegan chocolate kisses

Instructions:
Preheat the oven to 350°F and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

In a large bowl, combine SunButter, maple syrup, and vanilla. Stir with a rubber spatula until smooth.

Add almond flour, oat flour, baking soda, and salt to the bowl and mix until a soft, slightly sticky dough forms.

Scoop tablespoon-sized portions of dough and roll into balls. Place about 2 inches apart on the prepared baking sheet.

Bake for 10-12 minutes, or until the cookies look puffy and cracked and are lightly golden around the edges.

Let cool for 5 minutes, then gently press a chocolate kiss into the center of each cookie. (The cookies will crack and that’s okay!) Let cool completely on the baking sheet, until the chocolate is set. Serve or store in an airtight container for up to 1 week.

Note: The inside of your cookies may turn a festive green as they cool — this is completely normal! It’s a harmless chemical reaction between SunButter and baking soda. To reduce the likelihood of green cookies, add a small splash of lemon juice to the dough.
